이처럼 장애를 가진 이들은 자신이 가진 능력을 내세워 '그럼에도 불구하고' 나 역시 이 사회의 일원으로 살아갈 수 있음을 증명해야 하는 상황에 처하곤 한다.

장애인들은 꼭 무언가를 잘할 줄 알아야만 사회에 받아들여질 수 있는 것일까? 비장애인과 마찬가지로, 그저 존재한다는 이유만으로 사회 구성원으로 인정될 수 없을까? 오랜 시간 이어져 온 질문을 수면 위에 띄운 작품이 있다.

자폐 스펙트럼을 지닌 변호사가 주인공으로 나오는 드라마 <이상한 변호사 우영우>다.

■ '자폐'와 '천재'라는 소재는 양날의 검
